The Gamma Knife Center, opening in early 2005, will be the only center in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area with this leading-edge technology. The Gamma Knife is not actually a knife at all. It is a new radiation tool known worldwide for its precise, powerful treatment of brain tumors—without an incision and with minimal effects on surrounding healthy tissue. The Gamma Knife provides a less invasive, less risky, cost-effective outpatient option for patients facing brain tumor surgery.
