The Brain Tumor Center, affiliated with Fairview Health Services, University of Minnesota Academic Health Center and University of Minnesota Physicians, combines research and patient care services to provide the best possible outcomes for brain tumor patients.
The center brings together the talents of neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists and radiation oncologists to streamline patient care. Special features include care at two sites, tomotherapy, Gamma Knife technology, intra-arterial chemotherapy, intra-operative MRI surgery and MRI-guided surgical navigation and innovative MRI-guided biopsy.
Patients may participate in clinical trials that involved experimental research leading to new treatments for brain tumors. Patient and family education is emphasized and a support group that meets twice a month is available.
