The First Steps to Recovery

Within 24 hours at Fairview, you can expect our team to meet and talk with you and your family about your hopes for returning to your daily routine, including work and leisure.

Your care plan focuses on your goals throughout your stay, such as re-learning how to climb stairs or eat. You and your family are the most important part of our team. That’s why we regularly meet with you to talk about your progress and plan for your eventual transition home.

You will eat breakfast in your room or the dining room. Lunch and dinner are served in the dining room. You may order meals from the menu or we will make special meals as needed. If you need help eating, a member of your care team will assist you.

You can expect to complete three hours of therapy each day. Physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists help you to become more independent. Your family is welcome to come to your therapy sessions if you wish. Rehabilitation nurses help you work toward your goals throughout the day.

We encourage you to be up and about as much as you can during the day. This will help you return to your normal activity level.
