The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Centers team provides the highest quality of care to pregnant women who are at risk of or are experiencing a medically complicated pregnancy with conditions including:

Prior Pregnancy Complications

  • Isoimmunization
  • Incompetent cervix
  • History of preeclampsia
  • History of preterm labor
  • Gestational diabetes and history thereof
  • Hyperemesis gravidarum
  • Recurrent pregnancy losses
  • Prior fetal or neonatal death

Current Pregnancy-related Indications

  • Abnormal biochemical screen
  • Size greater than dates
  • Size less than dates
  • Polyhydramnios
  • Oligohydramnios
  • Multiple gestation
  • Preterm labor
  • Preeclampsia
  • Previous stillbirth
  • Bleeding
  • Placenta previa
  • Placental abruption
  • Uncertain dates

Fetal Indications

  • Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) – known or suspected
  • Macrosomia
  • Hydrops fetalis
  • Arrhythmia
  • Congenital anomaly, known or suspected
  • Chromosomal abnormality
  • Abnormal lie
  • Decreased fetal activity
  • Fetal demise
  • Biometric inconsistencies
  • Cystic hygroma
  • Cervical/Sacroccygeal teratomas
  • Gastroschisis
  • Ompholocele
  • Skeletal dysplasias
  • Bladder outlet obstruction
  • Congenital diaphragmatic hernia
  • Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung (CCAM)
  • Pyelectasis/hydronephrosis
  • Twin to twin transfusion syndrom (TTTS)
  • Fetal chromosome abnormalities
    -Down syndrome
    -Trisomy 13
    -Trisomy 18
  • Fetal cardiac malformations
  • Spina bifida
  • Duodenal atresia

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Centers team provides a variety of treatments for pregnant women who are at risk of or are experiencing a medically complicated pregnancy including:

  • Integrated first trimester nuchal translucency/biochemical marker screens
  • Chorionic villus sampling (CVS)
  • Second trimester serum screening
  • 4-D Ultrasound
